Teak

Colombian teak grows in tropical regions with consistent sun and rainfall, conditions that help develop its natural strength and stability. High levels of natural oils make teak highly resistant to moisture, insects, and decay—one reason it has long been used in shipbuilding. Colombian teak is known for its balanced grain and warm, even tones, making it a durable and reliable choice for interior spaces.

For centuries, teak has been trusted by navies and shipbuilders to cross oceans and endure salt, sun, and time. Naturally rich in oils, it is remarkably durable, water-resistant, and beautiful—aging with quiet confidence.

This floor is rare. Colombia is one of the few places in the world where teak grows with exceptional quality and abundance.

Our engineered hardwood floors begin with hand-selected, ethically sourced Colombian teak, chosen board by board for its color, grain, and character. Each plank reflects the place it grew, shaped by climate and time.

We craft our floors in Antioquia, just outside Medellín, pairing a genuine solid teak wear layer with a stable plywood core, engineered for Colombia’s humid climate.

Konoha floors are made to be lived on, renewed, and passed down—honoring teak’s legacy as one of the world’s most enduring woods.

Construction: Engineered hardwood flooring with a solid Colombian teak wear layer bonded to a plywood core. All layers are made from 100% Colombian wood.

Format: Large to extra-large plank formats

Plank Widths: 20 cm, 23 cm, or 29 cm

Wear Layer Thickness: 3 mm or 4 mm

Total Thickness: 15 mm or 19 mm

Lengths: Ranging from 2.2 m to 3.0 m

Installation: Designed for full glue-down installation for maximum stability and long-term performance. Floors can be re-sanded multiple times over their lifetime.

Character & Selection: Natural Colombian teak, carefully selected for minimal knots and cracks while preserving the wood’s authentic character. Variations in tone and grain are inherent to the material. Natural cracks and knots are filled with color-matched fillers to maintain a refined, cohesive appearance.

Finishes Available: Konoha teak planks can be delivered unfinished, allowing for on-site sanding and finishing tailored to your project. Finished options are also available through selected partners, offered in a limited range of standard colors using either natural, plant-based oil finishes or, for higher-traffic applications, durable water-based polyurethane finishes.

Each Konoha board is crafted individually to celebrate the natural beauty of the wood—made in Colombia, where the trees themselves grow.

Konoha engineered floors are 100% real wood, from top to bottom. Visually and structurally, they offer the same beauty and quality as solid wood flooring—only improved.

Because wood naturally expands and contracts with humidity, especially in tropical climates, solid floors have limitations. Konoha’s engineered construction pairs a solid hardwood wear layer with a stable plywood core, allowing for wider planks, longer lengths, and superior performance in humid environments.

Once installed, you would never see the difference from a solid wood floor—only feel the stability.

Engineered floors are just as durable and can be refinished approximately three times, offering the same longevity as solid wood. They’re also more efficient: a 3–4 mm wear layer allows one tree to produce up to five times more flooring than a traditional solid plank.
